Authority Reinstatement

For authority suspended or revoked over insurance or BOC-3 filings.

FMCSA suspends or revokes operating authority when a required filing drops off your record, most often insurance or the BOC-3. Carriers usually get a notice first with a deadline to fix it. Acting before that date can keep your authority from going inactive at all.

Common Reasons for Suspension

  • Your insurance company cancelled its BMC-91 or BMC-91X filing
  • Your BOC-3 process agent filing was cancelled
  • Your USDOT number went inactive
  • You requested revocation and now want to operate again

Why Speed Matters

You cannot haul under suspended authority, and brokers check status before every load. If you got a notice, you usually have a short window to get the missing filing back on record before the suspension takes effect.

Before You Start

  • Your USDOT and MC numbers
  • The notice you received, if any
  • Your insurance agent's contact information

How Reinstatement Works

  1. We look up your record and confirm exactly why the authority was suspended.
  2. We file a new BOC-3 if needed and send your insurance agent what they must refile.
  3. We request reinstatement in Motus once the filings are back on record.
  4. We confirm when your authority shows active again.

What It Costs

Our reinstatement service is $199. If FMCSA charges a reinstatement fee for your situation, we show it before you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

I got a suspension notice. Is it too late?

Usually not. If the missing filing gets back on record before the date on the notice, the suspension may never take effect.

Does FMCSA charge to reinstate?

Sometimes, depending on the situation. We tell you the exact amount before you pay.

Can you get me insurance?

We are not an insurance agency, but we can point you to agencies that write new and reinstated authorities.
