UCR for Florida Carriers: Registering From a Non-Participating State
Updated October 13, 2026
Florida is one of the states that does not participate in the Unified Carrier Registration program. That does not exempt Florida carriers. If you operate in interstate commerce, you still need UCR.
States that do not participate
Arizona, District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, and Wyoming.
How to register from a non-participating state
You choose a base state among the participating states where you operate, usually a neighboring state on your regular routes. For many Florida carriers that is Georgia or Alabama. The fee is the same no matter which base state you choose.
2027 fees
Fees run from $55 for 0 to 2 vehicles up to $54,165 for the largest fleets. See the full 2027 fee table.
Deadline
Register before January 1, 2027. Enforcement at roadside and weigh stations starts that day in participating states.
